Where In the World is Censis: Jill Sweeney & Haley Hartje Visit Buffalo, NY

Where in the World is Censis?

Hello all you “Where in the World” fans. It has been awhile!  We are back with an extra special edition.  This month’s visit comes to you from an exotic land.  I’ll give you some clues:

  • It is known as the “City of Good Neighbors” for its friendly local community
  • Its name comes from the French word "beau fleuve," meaning "beautiful river"
  • It is the second biggest city in New York State

I know you are saying to yourself “EASY!  Rochester.”  WRONG!  This month, Censis team members are in Buffalo, NY.  Buffalo’s population of nearly 275,000 is second to only New York City (and not even a close second as NYC clocks in at over 8,000,000).

What was Censis doing in Buffalo, NY you may be asking?  We have three great ServicePlus customers that we visited that are part of the Kaleida Health network.

The first site visited was Buffalo General. This is the level 1 trauma center and the largest of the three facilities.  It is located in downtown Buffalo.

The second site visited was Oishei Children’s Hospital.  As the name implies, this is the women’s & children’s hospital and is also located downtown connected by a bridge to Buffalo General.

The third hospital visited was Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.  This facility is located in Williamsville about 20 minutes outside of the downtown area.

Jill Sweeney, Senior Clinical Educator, went onsite to all three facilities to conduct their annual ServicePlus assessments.  A ServicePlus assessment consists of reviewing a site’s CensiTrac utilization as well as their workflow.  Based on their assessment, recommendations are made to make the most of a site’s CensiTrac system, improve productivity and make recommendations to work smarter (not harder).  All three facilities have greatly improved their CensiTrac usage in the past few years and continue to learn new modules and skills.

As an added bonus, Haley Hartje, Customer Success Manager was able to fly into Buffalo and join Jill onsite at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for their utilization assessment.

Karen Grove is the SPD Manager at Millard Fillmore and is a great CensiTrac user.  Below are a couple pics of Karen, Haley and Jill during the department walk-thru:

Anybody who has been to Buffalo, NY has probably been to its #1 tourist destination, Niagara Falls.  During our site visit, we discussed with Karen the Falls and how beautiful it is.  Only then did Haley reveal that she had been to the Falls.  At 6 AM.  BEFORE COMING ONSITE. WHEN IT WAS 8 DEGREES OUTSIDE!

While this seems crazy – Haley said it was pretty amazing and she captured some awesome pictures.
